Our Staff
The staff is comprised primarily of title examiners, underwriters
and settlement agents. The Agency Managers are J. Henry (Hank)
Godwin, III and Robert G. (Buzzy) Hofheimer, Jr. Their combined
experience in the title industry in Virginia approaches sixty
years. The depth of their experience and the long time familiarity
with local geography are their great value to the Tidewater
real estate community.

Mr. Hofheimer served as president of the Virginia
Land Title Association, the state association of title
insurance underwriters and agents, from June 1993 to June 1994.
Both Mr. Godwin and Mr. Hofheimer have served with the Insurance
Testing Corporation in editing the licensing examination for
Virginia Title Insurance Agents.
With more than thirty years’ experience in the title
industry, Dixie Cooper Benton serves as Marketing Director,
is on the board of VLTA and is a Past President.
Susan Hawkins serves as Office Administrator and coordinates
the day-to-day operations of the office and staff. She
brings over twenty years of experience to the industry.
Also with twenty years of experience, Rebecca Chappell coordinates
the settlement department and assists in I.T. functions.
Our title examiners have an average of almost twenty years
experience, with the vast majority of that time accumulated
in the Tidewater area.
Complex commercial transactions are serviced and monitored
by Hank Godwin, Susan Hawkins, Kris Cates, Mitzi Ricks and
Buzzy Hofheimer.
75% of our employees are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia
as Title insurance Agents. Maintenance of a license requires
bi-annual continuing education in Title Insurance matters.
